Tousled Locks
Slightly messy but super romantic. I love this natural and bohemian look. No high maintenance layers and fringes - length with a simple part. From what I have noticed hair tends not to part directly in the middle of the forehead but slightly off-centre. Working with the natural parting of ones hair is key to achieve an effortless look - much easier than fighting the natural fall with heat and product!
I wish more young women in my little city would grow their lovely locks!

Red Location Museum by Noero Wolff Architects
Some photo's I took on a visit to Red Location Museum last year. There are some really beautiful moments that one experiences moving through the spaces. We were all pretty much blown away by the Archive and the ramp that brings you around to it. The manipulation of light is pretty amazing. And all brought about through the use of industrial and inexpensive materials.

Mens Hair Trend 2013 - Super Long
You only have to look to the fashion industry to know that mens long hair is a growing trend, excuse the pun. Long, sleak, clean and healthy is the look - not stringy and lusterless!. Long hair can get in the way of things but there are stylish solutions to keep long hair out of the way, notably, the "man bun", worn low as not to appear too feminine, and, if you're an adventurous and regular fashionisto, a topknot. A topknot is basically a bundle of hair tied in a knot and worn higher than a "man bun", think "Japanese Samurai". Glad I've given myself a two year head start. Long live long hair! Dapper Gents and a Lesson Learned.
I'm really inspired by these three well dressed gentlemen at the moment! They always look stylish and immaculately turned out.
Lately I've grown tired of wearing simple and easy combinations to university... Day in and day out I have noticed my gravitation towards certain "uniforms". But in the last few days I've started exploring more adventurous combinations to wear to class - I figured that I'm only going to live once and dressing well gives me great pleasure.
What is the point in the clothing, shoes and accessories that sit lifeless in my cupboard? I acquired them not only because they fitted and were needed functionally but because they reflected a part of me and offered a means to express myself.
What we choose to wear says a lot about how we feel about ourselves and how we want others to percieve us. From my own experience certain outfits have helped me to feel more conifident and assertive, ready to tackle stressful situations, meet new people and make good impressions. So here's to another week of fashion exploration!
